Roofer Licensing

A recap provided by the Government Affairs Committee of the Oklahoma Association of REALTORS® and dated June 6th, 2010 reveals that roofers may soon have to be licensed in Oklahoma:

SB2180, by Sen. Dan Newberry, R-Tulsa and Rep. Fred Jordan, R-Jenks, creates the Roofing Contractor Registration Act and would require Oklahoma’s Construction Industries Board to oversee roofers and their industry. This bill was certainly a hot topic during the closing weeks of the legislative session, especially after the recent tornadoes and hail storms. As of this writing, SB2180 is on the governor’s desk awaiting his decision.

This is a stand for Oklahoma consumers.
